PODMŁYŃSKA
In the Attics of Gdańsk
Located on the top floor of a 1950s building, this attic apartment sits in the very heart of Gdańsk’s Old Town.
The space required a complete renovation, including tearing down interior walls that unnecessarily divided an already compact footprint. I simplified the functional layout as much as possible to open up the interior-especially important given the limited daylight coming from just two dormer windows. Designed with short-term rental in mind, the living area seamlessly integrates with the bedroom.
The project highlights the original brickwork, which was restored and lightly whitewashed to bring warmth and authentic character to the space. Framed archival photographs of historic Gdańsk, illuminated by dedicated picture lights, add a refined finishing touch.
